Duncan Ferguson takes the reins at a new club
Former Everton striker appointed manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Ferguson says he is ready to step into football management after having a one-on-one conversation with Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.
Duncan Ferguson has been appointed the new manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle after the club sacked John Robertson last week.
The former Everton striker, who was part of the Toffees' FA Cup-winning team in 1995, has been out of work since leaving his role as assistant manager at Goodison Park in May.
Ferguson, who has also had spells in charge of Tranmere Rovers and Peterborough United, says he is ready for the challenge of managing in the Scottish Championship.
"I'm excited to get started and I can't wait to get to work with the players," Ferguson said.
"I know it will be a tough challenge, but I'm confident that we can achieve success together."
Ferguson is expected to take charge of his first game as Inverness manager when they host Ayr United on Saturday.
