Texas Bar Exam Results Released

Pass Rate Dips Slightly

The Texas Board of Law Examiners released the results of the February 2023 Texas Bar Exam on Wednesday.

3,925 Applicants Pass

Of the 5,833 applicants who took the exam, 3,925 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 67.3%. This is a slight decrease from the July 2022 exam, which had a pass rate of 68.8%.

First-Time Takers Fare Well

First-time takers had a higher pass rate of 72.9%, while repeat takers had a pass rate of 49.8%.

Scaled Score Requirement Raised

The scaled score required to pass the exam was raised from 270 to 274.

Diversity Among Passers

The Texas Bar Association praised the diversity among those who passed the exam, with 53% identifying as female and 47% identifying as male.
